As a trusted advisor to clients in SPM Learning you will:

• Deliver training to satisfy client engagements and in accordance with SPM’s practices.
• Perform needs analysis with clients for the purpose of identifying and understanding specific training and coaching requirements.
• Design and deliver training programs to meet client needs and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Facilitate workshops and sessions, and train-the-trainer programs as required.
• Utilize assessment tools, such as Kolbe and DiSC as part of the learning experience or for consulting and coaching.
• Contribute to expanding the learning offering that would advance or enhance SPM’s value to clients.
• Nurture positive working relationships with clients and develop references and referrals from these clients.
• Contribute to proposals and presentations as part of the business development process.
• Write articles and make presentations at industry-related conferences, client events and meetings.
• Be committed to continuous learning and improvement.

The successful candidate will bring:

• 3-5 years of learning and development experience
• Experience in training staff on core skills and methodologies
• Experience in training design and development
• Certificate in Adult Education/Learning from a recognized college or university
• Experience with adult learning, instructional design and emerging technologies
• Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
• Experience in one or more of the following sectors would be ideal: government, health care and/or finance
• Experience in a consulting environment would be a definite asset
• Authenticity which shows in your ability to build and manage client relationships, exemplified by the strong network of colleagues and business relationships that you now enjoy
• A commitment to personal excellence and growth demonstrated by your involvement in a diversity of interests and activities
• Strong problem solving, analytical and project management skills
• Hands-on experience with key PM tools (ideal)
• Proficiency in MS Suite of products
• PMP certification preferred; at a minimum must be qualified to write the exam.
• The ability to adjust to various styles and dynamics of individuals and groups
• A comfort level with working remotely and in various client locations (limited out of town travel required)
• The ability to manage ambiguity
• A self-starter, entrepreneurial style
• Confidence and presence
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Active member in the Canadian Society of Training and Development (CSTD)
• CTDP Designation (Certified Training and Development Professional) or at least qualified to get the designation within 6 months
• Must have a vehicle
